The Moroccan Court of Cassation issues its ruling against Dounia Batma. Will she be imprisoned for a year?

The Court of Cassation in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, issued its decision to reject the cassation request of the Moroccan artist, Dounia Batma, by canceling her one-year prison sentence, after she proved her relationship with the “Hamza Moon Baby” account, which was created through the “Snapchat” application to expose celebrities and their suspicious relationships with businessmen.

Dounia canceled her concert, which was scheduled to be held in a hotel in Tangier on New Year’s Eve, after the decision was issued, in order to avoid embarrassing the hotel management in the event of a decision to arrest her.
Donia’s fans launched the hashtag “We are all a victim”, affirming their support for her and her ordeal.
Batma published, through her official account, a post in which she wrote a message to her followers, in which she expressed her gratitude for the great support she received from her fans, and said: “I extend my thanks and gratitude to the Moroccan people and the Arab peoples of Syria, Egypt, the Sultanate of Oman, and the Gulf in general, and the Moroccan community residing abroad and all those who… Write to me, thank you for your heart-warming messages on WhatsApp. I will never forget your stance. I love you with all my heart.”
She added: “As for the Batmawis, you are my heartbeat and my testimony about you is wounded. May you always be my support and support.”
The Court of First Instance in Marrakesh had issued an 8-month prison sentence against Dounia in 2020, then the Court of Appeal, in a ruling issued by it, added 4 effective months to her prison sentence, bringing the total to a full year.
Among the artists who were victims of the scandalous account was the Moroccan artist Wiam Dahmani, who died of a heart attack after being blackmailed by the account.
The account also published bold photos of Moroccan journalist Maryam Said two days before her wedding.
