Donia Batma collapses and reveals that she was subjected to a murder attempt
Moroccan artist Dounia Batma appeared on a live broadcast, days after her one-year prison sentence was upheld in the case known in the media as “Hamza Moon Baby.”
Donia said that she was subjected to a murder attempt on a public road in one of the cities of Morocco, and that she was receiving threats to kill her. She confirmed that those behind these attempts aimed to remove her from the artistic scene.
Dounia broke down in tears and asked King Mohammed VI, King of Morocco, to order the Moroccan judiciary to pardon her. “My lord, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God grant you victory and protect you with what the Wise Remembrance has preserved, and grant your eyes to your crown prince, Moulay Hassan, and may God strengthen your support for your brother, Prince Moulay Rachid, and the rest of the honorable Alawite family. I am Donia Batma, a shepherd, one of your loyal subjects. I ask that you please include me in your compassion, have mercy on me and my daughters, and remove this affliction from me because I felt wronged.”
