Its upbringing
On June 14, 1940, Zubaida Ahmed Tharwatand her twin sister, Hikmat, were born. She has one brother Salah and twin brothers Alaa and Kamal. Her mother is the granddaughter of Sultan Hussein Kamel, Sultan of Egypt, and her uncle is the son of the Khedive Ismail, but she was hiding the truth after the revolution of 1952. Her father is an officer in the Egyptian army and did not refuse her entry into the world of acting, but her grandfather was opposed and threatened her with deprivation of inheritance, which prompted her to study law and graduate as a lawyer to please him. However, the office became admirers due to her beauty, so she decided to give up law and tried to convince her grandfather to reconsider entering the field of acting.
From competitors to championship
In 1956, Zubaida Tharwatparticipated in a stunt as an extra in the movie “Delilah” with Abdel Halim Hafez and Shadia, and then set off towards stardom and heroism. Her sister, Hikmat, always accompanied her. When her sister was offered to act, she refused, and after Hikmat’s marriage, Zubaida felt lonely and empty.

One of Zubaida Tharwat’smost important works in 1956 was “The Story of 3 Girls,” and she presented the films “The Little Angel” and “Women in My Life” one year later. In 1958, she presented the film “Bint 17” and starred with Kamal El-Shenawy in the film “She Lived for Love” in 1959. In the same year, she presented “The Sun That Never Sets” and “Beware of Love,” until she achieved her life’s dream in 1961 when she presented the film “A Day in My Life” opposite Abdel Halim Hafez, which was produced by her husband. In the same year, she presented the film “In Our House is a Man” opposite Omar Sharif, and her works also include “Lost Love,” “Me, My Wife, and the Secretary,” “Time, Love,” with Farid Al-Atrash, “Warm Embraces,” and “Forbidden Love.”
In addition to cinema, Zubaida Tharwat had theatrical appearances, the most famous of which was “A Very Happy Family.” She also participated in “Me, Her, and My Woman,” “Who Can Over Reem,” and “Scheherazade and 8 Women.” She presented a dramatic work entitled “Loyalty Without End” and a television evening entitled “ “A Story in Front of the Camera,” and she participated in radio productions, including “Mouths and Rabbits” and “Return My Heart.”
First shoot
Zubaida Tharwatrevealed , in press statements, the scenes of her first day of filming in the cinema, her first scene in front of the camera, and director Mohamed Karim’s admiration for her while she was sitting in the chair, describing her as a “princess.” However, Karim severely punished her after an unintended mistake during filming. Then the artist Shadia took her back to film again, telling her: “Don’t be thirsty, Amora, they are beautiful people who cry like this.”
Her relationship with Samir Ghanem
Zubaida Tharwatcaused the late actor Samir Ghanem to abandon his studies at the Faculty of Agriculture and join the Faculty of Law, where she was pursuing her studies with the aim of taking pictures with her, describing her as “the cream of the cream.”
Her retirement
At the end of the seventies, Zubaida Tharwatretired from film acting and decided to devote herself to her family. She resided in the United States for a period of time and her last media appearance was on the “Clearly” program with Amr El-Laithi.

Her private life
Zubaida Tharwatwas married 5 times, the first time to Ihab Al-Ghazawi, an officer in the Egyptian Navy, when she was twenty years old, but she soon separated from him and they had no children. She married the second time to the Syrian producer Sobhi Farhat, and they had four daughters, Reem, Rasha, Maha, and Qism. She married for the third time to engineer Walaa Ismail, for the fourth time to actor Omar Naji, and for the fifth time to Lebanese hairdresser Naeem.
When she met in Kuwait with the Brazilian player Pele during one of the events, he took off the rose necklace on his neck and presented it to her and proposed marriage to her, but she refused. Zubaida Tharwat revealed in an interview that she had never felt love in her life.
Her death
Zubaida Tharwatpassed away at the age of seventy-six on December 13, 2016 after a struggle with cancer. She was honored before her death at the Catholic Center, in its 64th session, and the honor was received by her grandson.

Despite Zubaida Tharwat’srefusal to record her life story in exchange for an imaginary sum of money, it was said that a dramatic work about her life story would be prepared and more than one actress was nominated for it, including Nancy Ajram, who closely resembles her, and also the Egyptian actress Mai Ezz El Din, who said that Zubaida is her grandmother and there is a kinship between them, and Zubaida also said that she is the actress most similar to her, but she did not talk about their kinship.
