Barcelona star Ilkay Gundogan was forced to spend the last days of 2023 in the hospital after he was injured in the gym equipment used by the team's players.
33-year-old Ilkay Gundogan, who was one of Barcelona’s best performers this season, scoring two goals and six assists, did not end the year 2023 as he hoped.
The player, who helped Barcelona win the Spanish LaLiga last season, was injured on Saturday in the gym of his team’s training ground at the Ciutat Esportiya Joan Gamper.
The player was taken to the hospital where he spent a few days, accompanied by his wife Sara who posted pictures on her Instagram page showing the injuries suffered by Ilkay Gundogan and the stitches.
The newspaper Mundo Deportivo said that as soon as the iron slipped on Ilkay Gundogan, his face was covered with blood, and he struggled with his team’s doctors who later took him to the hospital.
The news added that Ilkay Gundogan is now fine and will be able to be part of the list of players for his team that will face Las Palmas on Thursday.
